A. Pressing the Windows key with U starts the Utility Manager, which provides a number of useful aids (e.g., the Narrator, magnifier, on-screen keyboard) for people who have poor vision. To disable this shortcut, perform the following steps:

  1. Start the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Services snap-in (Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Services).
  2. Right-click Utility Manager, and select Properties.
  3. Set the Start-up type to Disabled, and click Apply. Then click OK.
To re-enable the shortcut, simply perform the steps above, setting the Start-up type to Manual.

Please note that disabling the Utility Manager service affects all users of the machine and may prevent users with physical and/or sensory disabilities from logging on. It's recommended that this tip only be used on the readers personal machine and not deployed on a wide scale.
