Okay, so you might not be interested in these three SharePoint freebies. But maybe you know someone who knows someone who might be interested.

Mac Office and SharePoint users. Today Microsoft released Office 2008 for Mac SP2, which includes a new tool, Document Connection for Mac, to aid access and browsing of documents in SharePoint by simplifying the way that users browse and manage files online and offline. Mac users can test drive a trial version of Office 2008  and existing customers can download SP2.

SharePoint user groups.  Bamboo Solutions announced a new program to provide free add-ons and other products to community-organized SharePoint user groups. As part of the program, Bamboo Solutions will provide up to $5,000 in free products to each local or regional SharePoint user group around the world. Bamboo has pledged up to $2 million worth of products and technology in support of the Microsoft SharePoint user group community. In exchange, participating groups will provide product reviews and feedback. To register for free products from Bamboo, interested SharePoint user groups should visit the Bamboo website.

SharePoint users who read Farsi. Microsoft SharePoint MVP Majid Ardforoushan (aka Neo Farvashan) recently released the Persian Language Pack for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. “This technology is not supported by Microsoft yet, probably because of US embargo against Iran, but I’m releasing this because I have some requests from outside of Iran, some Microsoft partners at UK, US and CA asking for this release,” Farvashan writes. “Microsoft supported Persian Language for Office 2003, Office 2007 and Exchange Server 2007, probably for Office 14, and hopefully for SharePoint 2010.”
