A. 0x0000001E is a common bug code. To resolve this error, you should typically contact Microsoft support with all the information from the failure. However, if you receive this error after you perform a new installation, look for the following culprits:

  • Lack of disk space for installation
  • Third-party video drivers (and the Windows 2000 or Windows NT win32k.sys driver)
  • System BIOS incompatibilities

To help resolve these problems,

  • Ensure that you have plenty of disk space
  • Remove the third-party video driver
  • Upgrade to the newest BIOS version, and ensure that it's on the Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)
