A: At the Worldwide Partner Conference in July 2011, Microsoft made the commitment that a Windows 7 PC will get an equal or better experience when running Windows 8, so you don't need to purchase a new PC just to be able to run Windows 8. If you also consider that the same was said from Windows Vista to Windows 7, it means a PC you purchased to get a great experience with Windows Vista will also give you a great experience with Windows 8.
